Originally trained in mechanical engineering, he discovered his passion for art through visiting exhibitions and enriched his creative development by attending numerous international art workshops and residencies. Since the early 2000s, Adewale has harnessed his multidisciplinary training to explore themes of urban life, rapid modern development, and the nuanced experiences of everyday city dwellers. His work is notable for its striking combination of minimalism, abstraction, and rich textured surfaces, ranging from photographic elements married with oil paint to thick, sculptural clumps of oil medium that often take years to cure, he imbues his pieces with a palpable sense of time and mortality. These material explorations create a powerful dialogue between traditional African sculptural sensibility and contemporary experimentation. In recent years, Adewale’s art has been showcased in major exhibitions across multiple continents, including a significant solo presentation titled Eternal Forms, which explored themes of earth, femininity, and timelessness through both portraiture and larger-than-life sculptural pieces. More recently, his work was featured in Terrestrial Tapestry, an immersive installation blending African heritage, identity, and human experience across painting and sculpture on display at a prominent London venue drawing global attention.
