Biography
Biography
b. 1990, Sacramento, California, USA Lives and works in Los Angeles, USA Megan Gabrielle Harris is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose evocative practice spans painting, drawing, and photography. She earned her B.A. in Art History from California State University, Sacramento, in 2014. Her work draws inspiration from travel, surreal landscapes, nature, fashion photography, and the escapist style of her father, Thomas Harris. Working often in pastel and soft, vibrantly hued palettes, she creates dreamlike, Afro-surrealist compositions featuring Black women in serene, contemplative states—resting, daydreaming, and indulging in self-possession. These tranquil, meditative scenes are a radical reimagining, offering visions of Black women at peace and in control of their narratives. Her process is deeply personal and cathartic, designed to invite viewers into a moment of quiet empowerment and healing. Harris’s work has featured in major fairs and exhibitions globally, including Untitled Art Fair Miami, Art X Lagos, Expo Chicago, Art Madrid, and Latitudes Art Fair Johannesburg. She debuted her first solo exhibition at Artcurial in Paris in March 2025 and continues to garner significant attention from international collectors and institutions.
